Biography

Jaycee King (Jayden Jean), born on November 27, 2001, in Cochrane, Ontario, is a young musician with a unique blend of influences, ranging from Metallica to Myles Kennedy to Eric Church. Raised in a musical family, his father, Mitch Jean, a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, played a pivotal role in shaping his musical journey. 
 

At the age of 12, King picked up his first guitar, and by 15, he found his singing voice after his high school band, Rocktread, lost its lead singer. Inspired by James Hetfield of Metallica, King became the frontman and honed his vocal skills. 

After Rocktread, King joined his father's country rock band (Mitch Jean), as a guitarist and back up vocalist, gaining invaluable experience in songwriting and stage performance. 
 

Post-graduation, he attended a music production course at Cambrian College, Sudbury, Ontario. Then soon after started a guitar teaching business in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. 
 

In August 2022, Jaycee embarked on a solo career, departing his father's band. He enrolled in a recording engineering program at Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. In August 2023 he released his debut single, "Little Small Town" and his second single “When I Lied to You” on February 2nd, 2024 and working on more captivating country rock music in the studio. 
 

Jaycee King is focused on building his presence beyond Northern Ontario and is set to leave his mark on the Canadian music scene.
